Maxine Lucas

Maxine Lucas, DNP, FNP-C

Maxine Lucas DNP, FNP-C, is a nationally certified family nurse practitioner with a special interest in dermatologic conditions.

After completing her undergraduate degree in nursing at the University of Arizona, Maxine continued on to obtain her masters of science and doctorate of nursing practice degrees in nursing at the University of Arizona.

She completed additional training to become certified as a dermatology nurse practitioner from the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Dermatology Nurses’ Association, and the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners.

Maxine grew up in Tucson, Arizona, but now calls Little Rock home. She enjoys gardening, exploring Arkansas state parks, and attending local events with her husband, Joe.

Rebecca Denniston

Rebecca Denniston, PA-C

Becca Denniston, a native of Little Rock, is a board-certified physician assistant.

She graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 2010 with a degree in biology. She continued her education in Fort Worth, Texas, at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where she received her master of physician assistant studies in 2015.

Prior to working at the Dermatology Group of Arkansas, Becca practiced as a PA in general medicine. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and Arkansas Academy of Physician Assistants.

Becca enjoys the outdoors, traveling, cooking, snow skiing, and spending time with her husband Taylor, their son Davis, and their goldendoodle Stella.

Shelbi Carpenter

Shelbi Carpenter, MSN, FNP-C

Shelbi Carpenter, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner.

Shelbi is a native of Arkansas and grew up in Junction City. She attended Henderson State University, following in the footsteps of her late grandfather Coach Sporty Carpenter and father Coach David Carpenter.

Shelbi participated on the Lady Reddies Cross Country team and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 2007. After completing nursing school, she worked at Baptist Health Medical Center in the Coronary Care Unit and Rapid Response Team. During this time, she held her critical care RN certification.

Shelbi continued her education at the University of Central Arkansas, where she received her master of science degree in nursing in 2014. She is an active member in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Since graduation, she has been working in the field of dermatology and cosmetics.

Shelbi has practiced in Arkansas, South Carolina, and Alabama. However, she is happy to be offering dermatological care back in her home state. Shelbi enjoys treating a variety of skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, acne, skin cancers, and warts, to name a few.

In Shelbi’s free time, she enjoys volunteering in the community, running, camping, fishing, and spending time with her friends and family. If you see Shelbi out and about, you will likely see her dog Murphy riding along.

Ruby McNamara

Ruby Lynn Romero-McNamara, RNBS

Ruby Lynn Romero-McNamara is a registered nurse.

She has had the unique opportunity to work with many highly respected doctors in the fields of dermatology, ENT, derm oncology, vascular, and cosmetic practice, learning a vast amount of knowledge from them all. Her special interest for the last 20 years has been laser nursing.

Ruby received her associate in arts degree from San Bernardino College in California, graduated from Baptist School of Nursing, then continued her education by graduating with a bachelor of science degree from UALR, both in Little Rock. She is a Golden Key and ASLMS member.

Ruby grew up in Southern California, but Little Rock, Arkansas. has been home since 1991. She has been a nurse since 1982 and has been blessed to work in three disciplines helping her patients: psychiatric nursing, operating room nursing, and, for the last 20 years, dermatology cosmetic nursing.

She enjoys spending time with her husband Dan, two grown sons (Mic and Zac), and two granddaughters (Desi and Maddy). She also enjoys reading, swimming, yoga, and baking.

Dr. Alexis

Alexis Shipley, Licensed Esthetician

Alexis Shipley, a native of Little Rock, is a licensed esthetician.

She graduated from Parkview High School, continuing her education at the University of Central Arkansas, where she received a bachelor of science degree in biology in 2012. She obtained her AR state license in esthetics in 2019.

Alexis is certified on multiple lasers and performs dermaplaningchemical peels, and microneedling. She is well versed on multiple skincare lines.

Outside of work at Dermatology Group of Arkansas, Alexis has a passion for beekeeping and has spent seven years as a professional beekeeper. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family, as well as her dogs.
