Get Education, Diagnosis, and Treatment from the Experienced Team Serving the Little Rock Area, Central Arkansas, and Beyond
In addition to diagnosing and treating skin cancer, acne, and a range of chronic medical conditions that impact the skin, the Dermatology Group of Arkansas team works with patients seeking help for a wide variety of other skin conditions in the Little Rock area. Because the skin is such a large and complex organ, and there are so many things that can impact its health and appearance—from diseases to bacteria to internal changes to environmental factors—anyone with a skin condition that is not resolving on its own, is hampering quality of life, or is generally suspicious is encouraged to arrange a consultation so we can help.

There are more skin conditions than can be listed here, any number of which we can reliably diagnose and treat. Here are some of the most common conditions we see at Dermatology Group of Arkansas.
Warts
Our dermatologists offer numerous traditional and novel treatments for warts. Warts are caused by human papillomavirus, and this benign but annoying skin condition is often difficult to eradicate. It can also be highly transmissible, entering the body through a cut or similar wound in the skin. It is best to see your dermatologist to determine the right treatment for you. Warts often require a series of treatments, and no particular treatment—from surgical removal to freezing to medications—has proven to be universally effective for this skin condition.
Visible Veins
Small, thin veins visible on the face—whether due to sun damage or a chronic condition such as rosacea—are primarily a cosmetic skin condition that can be addressed with laser treatments that target red pigmentation in the blood. This light energy collapses the vessels, which are not an integral part of a well-functioning circulatory system. The components are absorbed by the body, and the flow of blood is rerouted to more appropriate vessels deeper below the skin.

Molluscum Contagiosum
Sometimes mistaken for warts, this skin condition is the result of a pox virus transmitted by skin-to-skin contact. Symptoms include clustered or sometimes solitary bumps that are typically flesh colored (or close to it), smooth, firm, and marked with a slight central dimple or depression. No treatment is needed, as the lesions can be expected to resolve on their own in six months to a year, but their disappearance can also be hastened with topical or oral medications.
Rashes
When it comes to skin conditions, rashes are common. Their cause may be obvious, such as exposure to a known irritant, like poison ivy or poison oak. The source of the rash may also be a mystery. In any case, knowing the cause of the rash is an important part of getting the right treatment, so our dermatologists work diligently to determine potential triggers by conducting a thorough medical history and any necessary diagnostic tests for each patient complaining of itching, red, swollen, blistering, painful, and otherwise irritated skin.
